Specifications:Calcium Carbonate: 45% to 60%
Magnesium Carbonate: 35% to 45%
Silica: 2% max.
Most of the world's dolomite production comes from China, which in 2004 produced 160 million tonnes out of a total world output of 271 million tonnes. The USA, with around 20 million tonnes a year is the next biggest producer. Japanese production of around 9 million tonnes a year is mainly quicklime.
Other dolomite producers include Germany, Russia, Brazil and India.
