Ferrovanadium from China

Click here for our latest Ferrovanadium Offer

Ferrovanadium is an alloy containing between 35% and 80% vanadium and is usually used by steel manufacturers and foundries. China and South Africa account for over 80% of world ferrovanadium production with Russia, the other significant vanadium-producing country, accounting for around 14%. Vanadium is primarily recovered from titaniferous magnetite ore processed to produce liquid pig iron in these three countries. The process also produces a vanadium-bearing slag, which can be further processed to a 40% to 50% vanadium-content ferrovanadium.

Ferrovanadium Prices

Ferrovanadium prices were at the $US80-90 per kilo mark earlier in 2008, their highest mark since 2005, but a dramatic fall towards the end of 2008 saw prices tumble to around $31 per kilogram.
